How And Where To Hang It, Once You Get It Home:
These are the type of things that no one tells you,
but everyone will notice something just doesn't look quite right. So if you follow these simple rules youll
make everything right in the world - well in your
world at least.
1. Never put a large painting in a small space, it will over take the space and make proper viewing of the art impossible. Helpful Hint: If a painting is 48" wide the viewer must stand at least 48" away in order to view the painting in correct proportion.
2. Never put a small painting in a large space, it will be swallowed up in a large room and will be ignored by the viewer. Helpful Hint: If the painting is smaller than 18"x24", then try to arrange several pieces of similar art together to form a grouping.
3.Never place a paintings horizon above the eye level of the viewer. Helpful Hint: Do not place landscapes high on a wall or above a large fireplace mantle, the horizon line should never be above the top
of the viewers head.
4. Never place a picture frame light on your painting. They were not made for in home use, they were mainly produced for companies, restaurants and doctors offices where appropriate lighting was not available for the art work. Helpful Hint: The perfect way to light a painting is to position a light source in the same manner as the artist did when it was being painted.
5. Never forget to take a minute to stop and look at your art work and remember why you purchased it in the first place. Enjoy it!
