Bio/Artist Statement

Julia Jensen grew up in the great Northwest surrounded by nature and it's all beauty. Her desire to create art began in high school. She loved colors, textures and shapes. She began to think about a career in art but decided to pursue other interests in college. After graduation, Julia was summoned into the corporate world of Human Resources. Her passion for art had never wained it was just placed on the back burner for several years.

Then a couple of summers ago, Julia began experimenting with fusing glass. She was surprised how quickly she really enjoyed this new medium and fell in love with art all over again.

The source of Julia's new works of fused glass comes from the passion and love of interacting with colors and textures that have endured throughout her life. As Julia began her new adventure in glass working, her love of the outdoors became the theme for her current work.
