Theirry Kngware is a second generation city dwelling aborigine. He was born in just outside of Perth, Australia in 1978. His parents are both in the medical profession. He moved to Melborne at the age of 3, that is where his sister Colleen was born. His aboriginal roots are of the Arrente and Kitja cultures.
Theirry's love of art began in grade school when his maternal grandmother Kathleen came to stay with them in Melborne. She taught Theirry and his sister all about Dreamtime and the traditional style of dot painting in ochre and oxides. That was the beginning for Theirry, everything changed that day, his journey became all about art.
He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from The University of Western Australia. With his formal education done and his parents pleased, he began to explore the entire of his native land of Australia. Theirry paints in both ochre and acrylic, when traveling he paints in small watercolors.
Theirry is known as a New Contemporary Aboriginal Artist mixing both new mediums and original cultures. His paintings reflect the vast landscape of his birth. They flow with the colors of the land black, white, brilliant reds and vital ochre.
