Linda Rubietta was born and raised in Clearwater, Florida. This colorful west coast tourist town became the perfect catalyst for sparking her creativity and imagination. At an early age Linda became aware of art and the endless possibilities that it held for her.
Knowing that is is hard to live as a fine artist, Linda pursued a BFA in Graphic Design and Advertising. Eventually, she moved to the Midwest where she spent her career as an Art Director/Graphic Designer in several major Ad Agencies. Apart from art direction she managed to create artwork for ads here and there, knowing that one day it would be a fulltime thing, this fine art habit. Linda's motto was "Fine Art While You Wait". If someone needed a quick illustration or art work, Linda was always willing to lend a helping pen.
Then, in the blink of an eye it was 30 years later and time to become a fulltime fine artist. So, leaving the agency life behind with a bizarre happiness, she leaped. First things first, Linda finished that long elusive Master's Degree, in Fine Arts & Art History. Did she feel any smarter, braver, stronger, able to leap tall buildings in a single bound... not really but, she accomplished it.
Next, on to find that personal style of painting, glass work, pottery, one's inner voice. Well, after a while Linda realized, that one can have any number of personal styles. You may see a painting one way in your mind and by the time your brush reaches the canvas it has become, what it wanted to be.
Linda's art work varies from traditional to abstract, following her creative spirit, in whatever medium, where ever it takes her. Of late that medium has been art glass. Difficult at best, but when the Great Kiln Gods grant her a good fire, all is right with the world.
